What is the point on traveling if your life is in danger or if you’re dead (I want everyone reading this to live as long as possible! Life is about gaining wonderful memories and experiences!).

This website I personally use all the time because the information is brief and straight to the point. The grading system is based on four levels, each with its own correspondence color.

Basically, go to the website and search in this textbox any country you are thinking of going to. An example below is Indonesia.

Indonesia is ranked Level 2, which is still safe to travel to. I recommend any country with a level 3 and above, stay away until the situation gets better. Cancel that trip ASAP.

Read up on the news to know the latest situation happening in a country.
Its common nowadays that tensions are getting tough between countries especially with Russia, China and the West. Besides that, internal conflict such as a civil war or political issues are some of the red flags you must be on alert for. Do not be caught in any foreign conflicts, I can bet you that both parties at battle do not care if you are just a tourist. Lastly, reading up on the news or watching the news, you will be informed of any natural disaster that happen. During this unfortunate time when a country or city is hit by hurricane, tsunami or volcanoes, cancel your trip for a better time.

Here are some of popular news websites I recommend checking out to be inform of any conflict or natural disaster at the country you are researching about. Remember to take noticed of the dates of the article or post to be relevant!
Use Word of mouth to know which countries are safe to travel to.
Sometimes the people around you may have insights on to the current condition of a country. Maybe they are originally from the country, have business clients from that country or had a friend who just visited there before you. It’s good to discuss your plan with people so they can put in their 2 cents. Another benefits, they can be your emergency contact when you away from home and alert the embassy if anything unexpected happens during your trip.
